Edwin H. Mookini Library

 

 

The Edwin H. Mookini Library will undergo a $3+ million dollar renovation beginning December 2006 with an expected conclusion date of December 2007. Every effort will be made to maintain basic services during the renovation.

The scope of the project includes the following:

  • New air conditioning handlers for the entire building
  • New carpeting
  • New tile
  • Painting
  • Minor staff work area reconstruction
  • Installation of restrooms in HITS area
  • Installation of a 24/7 dehumidifier system
  • Installation of additional security cameras
  • Installation of compact shelving on the first floor
  • Installation of a self check-out station near the Circulation Desk
  • Installation of two 24/7 air conditioning units: one for the periodicals and microforms area on the third floor and one for the Hawaiian Collection on the second floor
  • Asbestos abatement
