The Mookini Library Loans from Other Libraries Office will be closed from 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012, and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

Loan requests received after December 13, 2012 will not be processed until after January 2, 2013. New requests will continue to be accepted online, but held in queue until after the New Year.

Please expect delays due to backlog.

IntraSystem Loan (ISL) is for requesting books, journal articles, audiovisual materials, and microforms from other libraries within the UH system. To request an ISL, please review the steps at Intrasystem Loan Request Instructions before going online to Hawai'i Voyager to make your request.

  • You will be notified in approximately 5 - 15 days.
  • Audiovisual materials from Sinclair must be requested at least two weeks prior to the date needed.
  • NEW! Audiovisual items received can be held for a maximum of only 3 days, but will now have a loan period of 7 days and up to 5 items.
  • Charges and fees may apply:
    • Fines apply to items requested but not picked up within 10 days for books and articles and 3 days for A/V items.
    • Borrowers are responsible for fees charged by the lending library for overdue, lost, or damaged items.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is for requesting books or journal articles not available at any of the libraries in the UH System.

  • NEW! ILLiad is a new system for requesting materials. Login using your UH username and password. The first time, you'll need to create an account.
  • Audiovisual materials and microforms are not available through ILL.
  • Requests may take three to five weeks, although some do arrive sooner.
  • Charges and fees may apply:
    • Charges apply to some items requested (see below).
    • Fines apply to items requested but not picked up. Hold times vary because of due dates of lending libraries.
    • Fines will be added to request charges (when applicable), i.e., an undergraduate student in a course below the 300 level who doesn’t pick up a requested ILL item will be charged $3.00 and fined $3.00 for a total of $6.00.
    • Borrowers are responsible for fees charged by the lending library for overdue, lost, or damaged items.
