IntraSystem Loan allows students, faculty, and staff to request books or journal articles from a library within the UH system. There is no charge for books. Students are charged $1.00 per request for photocopies of journal articles; $3.00 for audiovisual materials (videos, DVDs, etc.); and $3.00 for microfiche. To request an item through Intrasystem Loan, follow these steps:

 

1. To request an item, go to the Library's home page and select All UH Libraries under Library Catalog.

2. Search for the book, AV material, or journal.

 

 

 

3. Select and view the record.

 

4. Click on the "Request" button at the top of the page.

 

 

5. Enter your 10-digit barcode number from your activated UH ID/library card and your last name; click on "Login".

 

 

6. Choose the "UH Hilo Intrasystem Loan - Faculty/Student" form from the drop down list.

 

7.  Scroll down to the bottom part of the form.

8. Type in your barcode.

9. Comments Field:

  • Enter how you'd like to be notified - hawaii.edu email address or phone number.
  • If you request a book or AV material, go to step 10.
  • If your request is a journal article, include the complete citation information in this field, i.e., author, title, name of journal, volume, number, date and page(s) requested.
  • If you are currently enrolled in an Honors or Senior Thesis course, please include the specific Course Name and Number in this field.
  • If you are a faculty member requesting an AV item to show in class, include the "showdate" (which must be at least two weeks after the request date) and the course #.

10. Click on "Submit Request."

 

 

11. Submitted requests will be sent to the UHH Interlibrary Loan Dept. You will be notified in 5 - 10 business days.
